Oracle RAC Hosting – High‑Availability, Multi‑Node Clustering for Maximum Uptime

Vinters provides secure, high performance Oracle RAC hosting designed for organisations that need continuous availability, scalable performance, and fault tolerant database infrastructure. Oracle RAC uses multiple database servers operating as a single cluster to deliver exceptional resilience and workload distribution for mission critical applications.

Optimised for Oracle Standard Edition & Enterprise Edition

  • Oracle RAC is supported in Oracle Standard Edition up to 18c, provided the cluster contains no more than two nodes and two CPU sockets.
  • From Oracle 19c onwards, RAC is an Enterprise Edition only feature.
  • Vinters offers alternative high availability and disaster recovery solutions for Standard Edition 19c and above, giving you RAC‑like resilience without requiring an Enterprise Edition upgrade.

Enterprise‑Grade Resilience Engineered by Experienced Oracle Specialists

Vinters has worked with Oracle platforms since 2011, building and supporting highly resilient clustered database architectures across Standard and Enterprise Edition deployments. This includes multi‑layer fault tolerance and custom HA solutions for environments where RAC replacement is required.

Geographically Distributed Stretch Clusters for Extreme Availability

Vinters can deploy Oracle RAC stretch clusters across two or more of our geographically diverse data centres, enabling:

  • Automatic failover across multi‑site environments
  • Resilience across distances up to 4,700 miles
  • High availability configurations using Vinters’ proprietary DR and HA technologies

This ensures your Oracle workloads remain online even during regional outages.

Benefits of Vinters’ Oracle RAC Hosting

High‑Availability, Fault‑Tolerant Architecture

Oracle RAC hosting delivers active/active clustering across multiple servers, ensuring continuous availability and rapid failover for mission critical database workloads. Vinters supports multi‑node RAC deployments designed for maximum uptime and operational resilience.

Custom Designed RAC Environments

Every Oracle RAC cluster is engineered around your workload, performance targets, and long term scalability needs. All environments begin with a design consultation from an Oracle trained engineer to ensure the architecture aligns with your operational and future requirements.

24×7×365 Monitoring and Proactive Management

Vinters’ RAC environments are fully managed and monitored around the clock, providing continuous oversight of cluster performance, health, and failover readiness so your team can focus on business priorities.

Support for Multi‑Location & Multi‑Region Deployments

Vinters can host RAC clusters across multiple data centres or geographic regions using Oracle technologies like GoldenGate and Data Guard, as well as third party tools such as DB Visit, to meet strict RTO/RPO and resilience requirements.

Expertise Built From a Decade of Oracle Delivery

Vinters has supported Oracle platforms since 2011, building deep experience across clustered, high availability, and enterprise grade Oracle hosting environments, including business critical, real time workloads.

Frequently Asked Questions

Oracle RAC is designed to deliver high availability and resilience, but it can also introduce additional complexity in how environments are designed, hosted, and managed. The questions below cover common topics around Oracle RAC hosting, performance, availability, and ongoing management, helping you understand how Vinters delivers secure, resilient, and fully managed Oracle RAC hosting solutions.

Oracle RAC Hosting FAQ’s

Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) hosting is the deployment of Oracle’s database clustering components across multiple servers in a hosted environment to create a highly available and load distributed database platform. An Oracle RAC setup contains multiple database nodes, allowing workloads to run in a parallel, which under normal operation provides load distribution, however if one node fails the others continue running without interruption.

Oracle RAC is not currently supported on non-Oracle public cloud environments such as AWS or Azure. Both platforms can run standalone Oracle databases or clustered alternatives however only OCI, on-premise deployments and private cloud deployments where full control of the underlying infrastructure is available can meet the requirements to be officially supported.

You should consider Oracle RAC hosting when your workloads demand continuous availability, have a low tolerance for downtime, or require the ability to scale database performance horizontally. We most commonly see Oracle RAC hosting in mission‑critical sectors such as finance, healthcare, SaaS and e‑commerce where outages directly impact revenue or compliance.

Oracle RAC provides several major advantages. It delivers high availability through automatic failover, it offers scalability allowing multiple nodes to process workloads in parallel and it helps to enhance performance by distributing work across the cluster.
